Sowdena Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 15, 2026

This policy explains how Sowdena, an offline gardening guide and garden journal for iOS and Android, handles information. For privacy questions, contact the Sowdena developer at oguz7051@gmail.com.

Information stored on your device

Sowdena stores the information you choose to enter on your device: garden plants, planting dates, growing stages, tasks, reminders, notes, harvest records, favorites, garden layouts, preferences, and progress photos. Garden records are stored in a local SQLite database. Photos selected for your journal are copied into the application's documents directory.

The bundled plant library and translations work offline. You do not need to create an account. Sowdena does not operate a server to receive your garden records or photos and does not automatically upload them to the developer.

Collection, advertising, and tracking

Sowdena does not include advertising, behavioral tracking, third-party analytics, or a developer-operated crash-reporting service. The app does not collect your precise location, contacts, advertising identifier, or payment information. Growing conditions are based on preferences you choose, not GPS. There is no Firebase integration or AI service receiving your records.

Photos and notifications

If you add a progress photo, the system photo picker or photo-library permission provides access to the image you choose. Sowdena uses the selected image for your local journal; it does not automatically upload it.

Reminders are optional and scheduled locally on your device. Notification permission is requested when you choose to enable notifications or a reminder, rather than at first launch. You can decline permission and continue using your garden. You can change notification permission in your device settings. Reminder text may be visible on your lock screen depending on your system settings.

Backups and sharing you control

You can export a backup containing your garden records, preferences, and photo bytes, and restore a compatible backup. An exported backup is not encrypted by Sowdena. Keep it in a location you trust. If you choose cloud storage, email, or another destination for the file, that provider handles the file under its own policy. The developer does not automatically receive a copy.

Your operating system may include application data in device or cloud backups, depending on your settings. Apple, Google, or another backup provider controls that service. Sowdena does not provide its own cloud synchronization.

Retention and deletion

Local records remain until you edit or delete them, clear your data, or remove the app and its local data. The data deletion option in Settings removes the app's local garden records, journal photos, and preferences after confirmation. Deleting data in the app does not remove backup files you exported or copies kept by your operating system or another service. Delete those separately using that service's controls. Offloading an app or restoring a device backup may retain or restore data according to your operating system's behavior.

Because the developer does not hold your local garden database, the developer cannot access, recover, or delete it remotely. You can manage it on your device.

Other services and support

App Store, Google Play, TestFlight, device diagnostics, and operating-system services are governed by their providers' policies and your settings. They may process download, purchase, diagnostic, or beta feedback information independently of Sowdena's local data features. If you send us a support email or TestFlight feedback, we receive the information you submit and use it to respond and troubleshoot. Please avoid sending unnecessary personal information or unredacted backups.

If you visit a cited external source using your browser, that website's privacy policy applies. This policy page is hosted by GitHub, which may process standard website request information under the GitHub Privacy Statement. Visiting this page does not upload your garden database.

Children

Sowdena does not ask users to provide personal details to the developer and does not knowingly collect children's personal information through the app. Contact us if you believe personal information about a child has been sent to us through support so that we can address it.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the app's features or data practices change. The effective date above identifies the latest revision. For privacy requests or questions, email oguz7051@gmail.com.
